AUTHENTICITY
Authentication services will be available through Pa-Artifacts.com. To insure a high degree of accuracy,
the artifacts will be examined and evaluated with a high resolution, lighted microscope, for mineral
deposits consistent with the age of the artifact, degrees of patination, ( whether natural or artificial ),
typological criteria, modern alterations,  restoration, and correct lithic material for the artifact type.

Pa-Artifacts.Com COA's are done to the best of my ability but is only an opinion. No matter who
issues a COA paper it cannot prove your point is "real".  A certificate is merely an opinion, however, it
should be an opinion from someone who knows the area and recognizes the correct and incorrect
materials as well as the manufacturing techniques used by the people of that area. I am experienced in
all aspects of collecting and have been an avid collector,  for over 30 years. Email me or call with any
questions you may have.

If deemed authentic, a COA will be issued. All COA’s are numbered, and printed on heavy paper, with a
color photograph of your artifact.

Artifacts from Pa. and the adjoining states of New York, New Jersey, Maryland and the New England
States will be accepted for authentication. In order to assess an accurate evaluation only artifacts in the
collecting area will be evaluated.  An accurate evaluation is not possible if you don’t know the material,
point types, characteristics and how the material patinates over time.
Any type of stone artifact, bone, shell, pottery, and historic trade material will be accepted.

Cost will be $20.00 for each COA issued, plus $6.00 return shipping, insurance is recommended and will
be extra.

Any artifact deemed modern, or altered, will receive a letter stating why.
